Willand Parish Council has applied to designate the revised boundary of Willand Parish as an area for a Neighbourhood Plan. The Willand Neighbourhood Plan area is being amended due to the boundary changes that were implemented on 4 May 2023 following last year’s Parish Review.

A neighbourhood plan is a community-led framework for guiding the future development and growth of an area. It must conform to the strategic policies of the Mid Devon Local Plan Review (2013-2033), national planning policy and human rights legislation. Neighbourhood plans are also subject to public examination and referendum.

As a first step in the preparation of the plan, Willand Parish Council has submitted the revised boundary of Willand parish as the proposed boundary of the neighbourhood plan. The Parish Council’s application and a map of the proposed area can be viewed on our website and at the Council’s Office, Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton.

Comments are invited about the suitability of the Parish Council’s proposed neighbourhood plan area boundary, by email planningconsultations@middevon.gov.uk or by post/delivery to Forward Planning, Mid Devon District Council, Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton, EX16 6PP. All representations must include the sender’s postal address, or they will not be registered. The deadline for representations is 16 June 2023 (midnight).
