Licensing consultations: Licensing Act 2003 and Gambling Act 2005

What is it about?

Mid Devon District Council is currently consulting on the following two documents:

• Licensing Act 2003 - Statement of licensing policy
  
  
• Gambling Act 2005 - Statement of principles
  
  

The Licensing Act 2003 provides the legal framework for licensing the sale and supply of alcohol; provision of regulated entertainment and provision of late night refreshment. The Policy is intended to guide decision makers, applicants, objectors, and others regarding the decision-making process.

The Gambling Act 2005 provides the legal framework for gambling and the statement of principles sets out how we will carry out our work and determine licence applications for a variety of gaming and betting facilities.
