Council Leader Witnesses Police Work First-Hand
As part of a drive to boost collaborative working between the Council and local police force, Councillor Luke Taylor took part in a ride along with Devon & Cornwall Police.
Councillor Taylor joined officers in a late-night ride along, during which, he was able to witness proactive measures taken by the police in addressing the different types of reported crimes in the district. Notably, the Leader was able to observe the problems related to drug issues originating from larger cities and the commendable efforts by the police in uncovering and preventing such incidents.
This initiative aimed to strengthen collaborative efforts between the police force and the Council, gaining first-hand insight into the dedicated work done by the local police force in covering the vast area of Mid Devon.
Councillor Luke Taylor, Leader of the Council, said:
“The experience was thoroughly enjoyable for me; I especially enjoyed the opportunity to participate in training exercises with the police dogs.
I hope this engagement opportunity further solidifies our commitment to supporting law enforcement and ensuring the safety and security of our community.”
By fostering such collaborative actions, the Council and Devon & Cornwall Police aim to create a safer and more secure environment for all residents and visitors in the district.
