Council Supports Vaccination Programme Once Again
Mid Devon residents will continue to be offered local vaccinations for Covid-19 with the opening of a new vaccine site in Tiverton.
The council-owned building in Market Walk began administering vaccines, to those eligible, from December 1.
The Tiverton vaccination site at Moorhayes has now closed while the facility at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre remains open at selected times.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Bob Deed, said:
“We are pleased that once again we can support our communities and the local NHS with the ongoing vaccine roll out, which is a vital element to ending this pandemic. Our property services and leisure staff have been working closely with colleagues in the health service to ensure as many local people can have a vaccine service on their doorstep as possible.”
Back in January MDDC supported the early stages of the vaccine roll out when the council-owned Lords Meadow Leisure Centre in Crediton became a vaccine hub – utilising both NHS and council staff to support the Government’s vaccination drive.
Neighbouring leisure facility at Exe Valley has also previously been used as a Covid-19 testing site, as has the council-owned Station Road car park in Cullompton.
Book your vaccine, or check you eligibility on the NHS UK website.
