Council takes action against fly-tipping in Mid Devon
Mid Devon District Council has taken enforcement action following a recent case of fly-tipping on the A361, just off Junction 27.
After investigation of the dumped waste, the offender was found to be a resident from outside of the district who works in Mid Devon.
The individual was invited to an interview where they admitted to illegally dumping household waste in a lay-by. Following this admission a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) of £150 was issued, which has since been paid by the offender.
Councillor Josh Wright, Cabinet Member for Environment and Services said:
“This recent incident of fly-tipping is a reminder the Council will always take enforcement action against those who choose to pollute our beautiful district of Mid Devon. Our community and environment deserve better. We ask our residents to report fly-tipping so we can investigate and always dispose of their waste responsibly so we can look after our environment.”
The Council encourages the public to dispose of waste responsibly and report any instances of fly-tipping.
