Get up to £5,000 from Mid Devon District Council to help revive and create a new buzz in your town centre.

Mid Devon District Council is looking to support ideas/projects that will help to revitalise its town centres.

Love Your Town Centre is a funding initiative to support ideas from local businesses, town councils or organisations with projects that will revive our high streets and help them to flourish for the future.

The fund offers £15,000 apportioned across Mid Devon’s three main towns (Crediton, Cullompton and Tiverton) for projects that create resilience and sustainability of our town centres, increasing footfall and dwell time.

Adrian Welsh, Strategic Manager for Growth, Economy and Delivery, said:

“It has been a challenging year for businesses and we want to encourage projects that support our town centres, safely increasing shopper confidence and footfall. With further restrictions expected to be lifted from 21 June, this fund is in place to support our businesses and help people to re-engage with their town centre.
We are looking for ideas that can make short-term impact and have a lasting effect. Previous projects supported by the fund are the Walronds Wander trail, Crediton Town Team’s share in the square initiative and Tiverton’s Christmas Elf hunt. We welcome imaginative applications for projects for 2021.”

The Love your Town Centre Fund opened for applications on Wednesday 5 May 2021 and closes at 12noon on Friday 4 June 2021. Applications will go to a Funding Panel for assessment with funding decisions announced by 11 June.

Town Centre groups are encouraged to consider projects that they could put forward for funding. The projects must be delivered within 12 months of the funding decision. Funding cannot be used for projects already delivered or initiated unless it is for a separate phase of a wider project. Applications must be for projects delivered within designated Mid Devon town centres or within Mid Devon town boundaries with a demonstrable direct positive effect on the town centre.

The full criteria and application process guidance is available to view on the Council’s website at https://www.middevon.gov.uk/residents/grants-and-funding/love-your-town-centre-fund/ .
