Mid Devon Business Event 2022 A Success!
Mid Devon businesses within the leisure, tourism and hospitality sector attended a free business event at Tiverton Hotel on Wednesday 18 May 2022. Hosted by Mid Devon District Council’s partnership project: Visit Mid Devon.
The event was organised to support Mid Devon’s businesses which were hit hardest by the pandemic. Over 80 registered to attend including accommodation providers, eateries, attractions, food & drink producers, event organisers, boutique retail, leisure facilities and support services.
Amy Dugard, Growth and Regeneration Officer said:
“We had a lot of interest, indicating an appetite for these sort of events. The guest speakers reflected on the lessons learnt during the pandemic and the trends which have emerged. Speakers and partner organisations offered advice and insight on current issues facing our businesses, and explain how our businesses can engage in support, courses and advice to grow their business.”
Guest speakers included Kate Doodson from Cosmic, discussing digital marketing following the pandemic. Greg Parson from South West Food hub discussed the benefits and opportunities for shorter food supply chains. Alistair Handyside from South West Tourism Alliance shared his thoughts about tourism’s future in the South West.
Mid Devon District Council are determined to support our local economy recover and will be working with our businesses and reacting to their needs through the Shared Prosperity Fund.
