FinalistMid Devon Housing (MDH) is delighted to announce that its collaboration with Aico, a leader in home safety technology, has been recognised at the Housing Technology Awards taking place on 12 March.

The partnership has seen significant success with the implementation of Aico's HomeLINK Case Management System, a powerful tool that has transformed how the Council manages complex damp and mould cases.

Since the launch of the system in November 2024, Mid Devon Housing has seen considerable improvements in the tracking and resolution of damp and mould cases. HomeLINK has enabled the Council to streamline its processes, allowing for quicker identification of issues, improved communication with tenants, and more efficient case management. The system also helps ensure tenants are kept up to date on actions being taken—both by Mid Devon Housing as their landlord and by them as tenants—promoting clearer, more transparent communication throughout the process.

Cllr Simon Clist, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member said:

“It's great so see our collaboration with Aico recognised like this. Mid Devon Housing has been able to make use of the case management tool to improve our customers experience when dealing with complex damp and mould issues. HomeLINK was created to improve customer service and simplify case management, so it's amazing to see it really making a difference. This recognition really reflects all the hard work our teams have put in.”

As finalists in the Customer/Tenant Services category, Mid Devon Housing and Aico are being celebrated for their commitment to transforming customer engagement and providing tech-driven solutions.

Mid Devon Housing previously triumphed at the ASCP Safety & Compliance 2024 Awards in June 2024, winning the ‘Best Response to Damp and Mould’ award. The Council’s efforts to address damp and mould issues within its housing stock ensure safer and healthier living environments for its tenants.

Mid Devon Housing recognises that some damp and mould issues can be complex and may take time to fully resolve, but every case matters. The Council is committed to finding solutions and encourages tenants to continue reporting any recurring problems. Ongoing feedback is vital—it allows Mid Devon Housing to monitor homes effectively, track patterns, and take action where needed to prevent issues from worsening.

Importantly, Mid Devon Housing believes that tackling damp and mould requires landlords and tenants to work together. When issues are not caused by structural defects, collaboration is the key to success. By helping tenants understand their responsibilities and keeping them informed of Mid Devon Housing’s actions, the HomeLINK system supports a more cooperative approach—because solving damp and mould issues is a shared effort.
