Mid Devon Housing recently joined a national campaign to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB); encouraging communities to take a stand against ASB and to highlight the actions that can be taken by those experiencing it.

A special neighbourhood walkabout took place in a Tiverton estate with Neighbourhood Officers, Police, local Councillors and the Street Scene team offering a hands-on approach to addressing community concerns. Tenants were able to address concerns within their community and speak directly to their Neighbourhood Officer and local policing team.

There was also a briefing on Wednesday 20 November, providing an in-depth look at the powers available to tackle ASB and how councillors can help to foster safer, stronger communities across Mid Devon.

A street surgery with Cullompton Police was postponed due to the snow, however a new date has been arranged; Thursday 5 December, 3-4pm outside Cullompton Tesco. Pop by to speak with your housing or policing team if you have any neighbourhood concerns.

Councillor Simon Clist, Deputy Leader and Cabinet member for Housing & Property Services, said:

Together, we can create stronger, safer communities where our residents are happy and proud to live!”

Any tenant experiencing anti-social behaviour should in the first instance use our ASB Toolkit which provides advice on what can be done. Anti-social behaviour can also be reported to the Council by calling 01884 255 255, by emailing htenancy@middevon.gov.uk or by filling out our online form.

If you witness a crime or emergency, report it to the police by calling 999 or for non-urgent incidents call 101.
