A Neighbourhood Plan that will influence future development in Cullompton parish will go to a local referendum on 6th May 2021.

The Neighbourhood Plan has been prepared by Cullompton Town Council.  It has been subject to extensive community consultations and independent examination.

The referendum will provide all eligible residents with an opportunity to vote on the Neighbourhood Plan. If the majority vote in favour of the Neighbourhood Plan, and following adoption by Mid Devon District Council (MDDC), the plan must be considered by MDDC when making decisions on planning applications in Cullompton parish. A person is able to vote in the referendum if, on 6th May 2021, they are entitled to vote in a local government election in the referendum area (Cullompton parish), and their qualifying address for the election is in the referendum area. Each entitled voter will be sent a referendum poll card.

All information relating to the referendum, including a map of the referendum area, is available to view at the following address:

The polling stations will be as follows:

  1. Cullompton Community Centre, Pye Corner, Cullompton
  2. Cullompton Town Hall, High Street, Cullompton

Please note: There are also local elections taking place at the same time and venue: entitled voters will however receive a separate poll card for this.

Once adopted, Neighbourhood Plans are key documents with a legal status which influence the shape and development of the areas they cover over many years. As such we encourage all residents eligible to vote in the referendum to check to ensure they are registered, and therefore able to vote on the day.
