Nesting in Tiverton, The Flock That Rock - Tiverton Swan Trail
The launch of the trail will be held at the Grand Western Canal Basin on Wednesday 3rd April 2024, which will kick-start a summer of celebrations for the Tivertonian’s 50th anniversary. One of the last horse-drawn barges in the country.
You will be able to collect your free trail guide from the Tourist Information Centre (at Tiverton Museum) and the Visitor Centre at the Canal Basin from 3 April until October half-term. Twelve swans will be located around the town, with a naughty escapee 13th swan, ‘Swanning Around’, to find. It will keep everyone entertained this summer!
Zoë Lentell, Economic Development Team Leader, states:
“For those who complete the trail, you can collect a free badge from the TIC and Tiverton Library. The trail will take approximately 2.5hrs to complete, therefore, come for the day, enjoy the town’s eateries, independent shops and visit an attraction for a fun family day out in Tiverton!”
For visitors who are feeling inspired by the project, there is the opportunity to have a go at painting a mini-swan to take home and keep! Working in partnership with Happy Glaze Pottery, participants who have completed the Tiverton Swan Trail can get 10% off a swan (booking recommended).
Collect your trail guides from 3 April 2024 and keep an eye on the Facebook page @TheFlockThatRock for linked events and news about our swans.
This trail has been funded by the Government’s Levelling Up Fund, through the Shared Prosperity Programme.
