portait photo of Cllr Chris DawFrom today (25th March), a new Cabinet role has been created to drive continued improvement in services as council activity adapts to the changing situation for businesses and customers.

The remit of the new Cabinet post will be to focus on business and process improvement across the entire span of council activity in order to ensure that the responsiveness and agility demonstrated throughout the pandemic, is harnessed to deliver better outcomes for residents as the council transitions to the new normal.

Announcing the changes, Leader of the Council, Cllr Bob Deed, said: "I am pleased to announce this new addition to the Cabinet. It has been a priority for me to ensure that, wherever possible, the vital activity undertaken by the council is maintained despite the many recent challenges we’ve faced. As we look forward to a brighter future the time feels right to give some significant member focus to addressing customer and service issues with the same vigour with which we’ve stepped up to tackle the covid challenge.
"In Cllr Chris Daw, not only will the Cabinet be benefitting from her time on the council’s scrutiny committee exploring issues of concern to the council, but as Chair of the Customer Experience Working Group that reported to scrutiny in 2020, she brings a wealth of detailed knowledge of the council’s systems, has undertaken customer journey-mapping alongside staff to learn of current issues, and I know she is personally committed to driving continuous improvement to give our communities confidence in council actions. I welcome her to the Cabinet team and am very pleased she accepted this offer."
