The Council has appointed a new leader at its meeting on 22^nd February. The Council’s previous leader, Cllr Bob Deed, resigned before the meeting and during the meeting the Council appointed Cllr Barry Warren (Independent) as its new leader with immediate effect.

Welcoming the support and confidence from members of the Council, Cllr Warren said:

"There is no doubt that we have some pressing decisions to make in terms of the budget and many other areas that are important to the residents of Mid Devon. I look forward to the coming weeks as we work productively to put the Council on a solid footing and heading in the right direction ahead of the district elections in May’.
