Mid Devon Communities are being invited to have their say on a further round of consultation about parishes within the district.A streetscene in Mid Devon

In November 2021 Mid Devon District Council began a Parish Review and sought the opinions of our communities and businesses in the district. Following this a set of draft proposals have been drawn up and we are now seeking views on the plans.

The Parish Review (previously known as a Community Governance Review) reviews towns and parishes in Mid Devon and will be considering a number of options. These include:

The review has a number of aims including changing boundaries as a result of new buildings and growth, removing any existing anomalies in boundaries, as well as improving local democracy.

The first stage of consultation, which was undertaken in the winter of 2021, has allowed officers to draw up a number of proposals which can be read in detail online.

Any changes as a result of the review would come into effect for the 2023 all-out elections.

We welcome comments from individuals and organisations about the proposals.

Please use the comment form to share your views. You can also call 01884 255 255, email parishreview@middevon.gov.uk or write to Parish Review, Electoral Services, Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton EX16 6PP.

This second stage of consultation runs until 23 October 2022.
