What evidence do I need to give in support of my claim?

If you've made a claim for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction, you'll need to submit the following forms of evidence to us:

  1. Evidence of your identity and, if you have a partner, evidence of their identity.

  2. Evidence of your National Insurance number and, if you have a partner, evidence of their National Insurance number.

  3. Evidence of your income and, if you have a partner, evidence of their income.

  4. Evidence of all the income of anyone else living with you (including, for example, grown-up children, other relatives or friends).

  5. Evidence of all savings, investments and any other capital or stocks and shares held by you and your partner, including all bank and building society current and savings accounts.

  6. Evidence of your rent, if you pay rent to a private landlord or a housing association.

 

Don't delay, as your claim cannot be processed until this evidence has been provided.
