2023-2024
Anti-social Behaviour Policy - The draft Policy and Procedures went out for tenant consultation between 13th April and 19th May 2023. No comments were received from tenants.
Damp & Mould Policy - During the development of the policy, MDH ran a damp and mould forum on its Facebook site which sought feedback on the experiences of tenants alongside their views and ideas on tackling the issue. Responses received formed a key part in the development of the policy itself. A second round of formal tenant consultation took place between 5th June and 17th July 2023 on the final draft policy and no additional responses were received from tenants.
Recharges Policy - Tenants were invited to comment on the draft policy between 4th August and 31st August 2023.
Tenancy Inspection Policy - Tenants and all members were invited to comment on the draft policy between and 6 October and 6 November 2023.
Homes Safety Policy - Tenants were invited to comment on the draft policy between 17th November and 17th December 2023.
Pets & Animals Policy - Tenants and members of the Homes PDG were invited to comment on the draft policy between 17th November and 17th December 2023. A query was received from a tenant with regard to XL Bully dogs and it was confirmed that policy is clear that MDH tenants are not allowed to keep or allow any dangerous pet(s)/animal(s) into their home. This includes those covered by The Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, The Dangerous Wild Animals Act 1976 or any other relevant legislation.
Tenure Reform Focus Group – We engaged with tenants over a 4 month period at the end of 2023 beginning of 2024 to gain insight into their thoughts on flexible tenancies and whether or not we should continue using them.
At the end of November 2023, we published a page on our engagement hub, Let’s Talk Mid Devon. This page included all the information a tenant would need to help inform them of the project. Tenants could take part in a poll or include a forum response. This was regularly shared on social media over the last 4 months and was visited by 269 people.
The project was also shared in our Winter Newsletter inviting tenants to take part and have their say. They were directed to Let’s Talk Mid Devon and encouraged to meet with Officers in person.
In early January 2024, our weekly Community Cuppa in Tiverton hosted an informal focus group with attendees. They were asked a series of questions and expressed their views on flexible tenancies.
Towards the end of January and throughout February 2024 we also hosted a series of Housing Matters events in Tiverton, Crediton, Cullompton, Hemyock and Lapford. These were offered as drop in sessions for tenants who could pop by and have their say. Those that attended these events also took part in the same poll that was published online and so all responses to this poll have been combined.
