Changes to HMO legislation

Houses in multiple occupation (HMO), are properties which have shared kitchens and/or bathrooms, or were converted before 1991. If there are three or more people in the property, then it's likely to be an HMO and there's regulations that cover the management of these properties.

In April 2018, regulations are due to come into force requiring a licence for any property from a bungalow to a flat, with five or more people sharing occupancy.
