Help to Shape the Future of the HHSRS

The Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) is the set of 29 hazards that Council officers use to assess residential property and is currently being reviewed.

It was developed in the 1990s and has been in place for approximately 15 years. In that time, building technology and knowledge about risks and hazards in buildings have advanced.

RHE has been appointed by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to carry out a two-year project to review the HHSRS and they need your views!

How can I submit my views?

The surveys are open now and must be completed by Wednesday 31st March 2021. Please use the following links to complete one or both of the surveys:

Aimed at private and social rented sector landlords. Stakeholders may include local authority or housing association providers, lettings and managing agents, block managers or private and purpose-built student accommodation providers.

Aimed at private rented sector and housing association tenants and owner-occupiers.
