Local Development Scheme
The Council’s Local Development Scheme (LDS) is the timetable that sets out which planning documents the Council will produce, when the consultation stages will be and when the Council will adopt the documents.
The Council approved a new LDS on 4th March 2025. This sets out the timetable for preparing a new Local Plan for Mid Devon. The timetable for the production and adoption of the new Local Plan is based on the introduction of a new plan making system under the Levelling-up and Regeneration Act 2023 and new regulations expected in the summer 2025. The timetable will be subject to a further review once the new plan making regulations have been introduced.
