Residents in Mid Devon can now access their own council portal, bringing services and contact to the touch of a button.

From 18 October 2023 the Council’s new self-portal, My Mid Devon, allows customers to create their own accounts, enabling them to log issues as well as check information such as their recycling collection dates and access information about their local councillors.

Once the new system is fully integrated with all council services, customers will also be able to use the portal to monitor responses and the check progress of any requests.

By creating an account on the My Mid Devon portal, residents can access personalised online forms and real-time information related to the waste and recycling services delivered to them by the council.

The tool also links up to the council’s current email alert subscription service, offering residents the chance to manage which alerts and updates they wish to receive from the council about services it runs.

The portal, which is built on the platform developed by public sector digital specialist Granicus, offers both residents and council staff a comprehensive overview of transactions, allowing all staff in the council access to the same information, giving a more timely and coordinated response to our customers.

Councillor Jane Lock, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Working Environment said:

“My Mid Devon is a major digital project for the council, which gives residents another way to access our services while giving them more control and insight. From real-time recycling and waste updates, personalised forms, signing up for email subscriptions, My Mid Devon does all that and with more to follow.”

Residents can create their own account online at https://my.middevon.gov.uk/.

While the service has gone live and residents can use it to access any council service immediately, over time users will also be able to have more insight into the progress of requests and details about who is dealing with their enquiry and expected resolution date.

The system will run side by side with the current Citizen Access portal which allows residents access to manage their council tax account, including checking their balance, changing direct debits and updating addresses.
