Market Fest PosterTiverton Pannier Market is to hold a special event on Sunday 26 September featuring a host of new traders, street food, a pop-up bar and around four hours of live music.

Market Fest is billed as “a showcase of local artists, crafters, makers and traders”, with over 35 stalls.

The event will run alongside eat:Tiverton, the food and drink festival with 70+ stalls in the town centre, with the same opening hours of 10am to 4pm.

Many regular market traders will be joined by a series of returnees and businesses making their first appearance at the historic venue.

Among the artists, crafters and makers adding a new dimension to the market will be Doodle Roochu, Holly Valley Art, MetalMotif, Rowan and Roses, Steamfunk Fairy, The Arty Lady, The Wilds of Exmoor and Vicky Hawley Art.

The live music will run from 11am to 3.15pm, with local folk trio Fox Willow, entertaining keyboard and guitar duo Rough Justice and up-tempo skiffle stars the Bottle Top Boogie Band all making an appearance in the market’s new “Busker Shack”.

There will also be street food stalls and a Cider and Cocktail Bar, with extra seating and tables.

Jim Bray, the new market manager, said:

“eat:Tiverton promises to be a cracking festival – probably the busiest day in the town centre this year – and we were keen to run an event alongside it with a similar focus on innovative local businesses.
“There are so many amazing artists, crafters and makers in the area and we’re keen to give them more opportunities to showcase and sell their work in Tiverton, starting with Market Fest.
“As well as a variety of arts, crafts and artisan items, visitors can check out a host of other traders and enjoy around four hours of live music, street food and a pop-up bar.
“It looks set to be an exciting, action-packed day for the market and the town centre as a whole.”
