Mid Devon District Council has taken enforcement action following a major fly-tipping incident at Market Place, Tiverton.

After investigation of the dumped waste, an individual was identified and invited to an interview where they admitted to illegally dumping a significant amount of waste. Following this admission a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) of £400 was issued, which has since been paid by the offender.

Councillor Josh Wright, Cabinet Member for Service Delivery and Continuous Improvement said:

"Mid Devon District Council takes fly-tipping very seriously, and through the dedication of the Environment & Enforcement team, were able to identify the individual responsible leading to a successful outcome. I would like to extend my thanks to the Street Cleansing team for their work in removing and disposing of the waste.
