Skilled Building Maintenance Operative (Carpenter)

We are looking to expand our already successful Building Services Team by recruiting an enthusiastic Skilled Carpenter. The post holder will be working as part of our Building Services Team delivering works to our Housing Stock mainly in the responsive repairs team.

The role will allow you to work on their own initiative, but also to work within a close team of responsive repairs operatives, with support from a dedicated works programmers. You will be part of a growing maintenance team of over 40 operatives.

Power tools are provided, we have our own stores and flexibility to buy materials from suppliers. Our operatives are provided with a company works vehicle, with the option to take this home with a fixed mileage rate deduction. Ongoing health and safety training is provided.

Work will be varied, comprising of general carpentry tasks, and some aspects of other trades work as necessary.

For this post you must be qualified or working towards NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry, Maintenance or Construction Skills and have at least 3 years’ experience in a relevant industry. It is essential that the post holder is both confident and self-motivated at all times with excellent customer communication skills. Previous experience of working in Social housing would be an advantage, and experience of mobile working solutions and hand held devices’ is desirable.
